Thomas Holton has been called as the Church History Specialist for the Republic of Ireland.

Brother Thomas Holton was called as the Church History Specialist for the Republic of Ireland in August 2019. 

 

He was born in 1973. His family joined the Church in 1976 in Dublin Ireland. His mother serves as an Ordinance Worker in the Preston Temple and is a woman of faith and devotion. 

He loves the restored church of Jesus Christ and was deeply blessed to serve in the England Birmingham Mission from 1991 to 1993. He describes it as life changing. 

Brother Holton married Veronica Gibbons in 1999. She was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean in 1991, served in the England Manchester Mission from 1996 to 1998 and presently serves very capably as Dublin Stake Relief Society President. 

The Holton’s have one son named Thomas David who is their great joy and will soon serve a mission. 

Brother Holton has degrees in Taxation, Social Science and International Relations and loves education. He has worked in financial and legal administration in both private and public service. His interests include church Doctrine and History, reading and writing, epic movies and keeping fit. 

In the Church his service has included Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Elder’s quorum president, Bishop’s counsellor and 10 years as a branch president. He is presently serving as a Stake High Councillor, Stake Sunday School president and a branch young men president in the Dublin Stake. 

In his new calling he hopes to encourage the recording and remembering of the rich history of the Church in Ireland.
